Cleaned up, hitched up, gassed up and was on I-20 heading east by 0635...I guess I took a stupid pill this morning...my game plan did not include arriving in Jackson, Ms. during rush hour..to include the intersecting of two major interstates...I-55 and I-20....Stamp stupid on my forehead!!!....since I maintained my usual speed in cities of 50mph, I found out real fast who was running late for work...they are not nice that early in the morning...such is life....

I came through that ordeal without any real trauma....and the rest of the trip was a non event....I had decided that at Meridian I would head on Rt 80 into Alabama ...and at Montgomery go up I-85 to Auburn...I most say Rt 80 is a very relaxing, 4 lane divided highway...though not an interstate you move right along....there are sections under construction that are one lane each way, but that's less than 10 percent... and gas for the most part for regular was 3.09-3.29 per gallon....
Arrived at the Auburn RV park early afternoon, decided on a premium slot...it sits right on a babbling brook...whatever that is...and am now relaxing...still no wine, but have a couple Shiners left...Tomorrow I touchdown in Charleston...I will follow Thundershowers most of the way in...will need wine!!...Plan to stay there until the 8th of July and then start the adventure back to Texas....southern route is planned....coming across I-10... we'll see what happens...

No photo ops today...but Lynn commented about her husbands shoulder pain and JerryC and some others where giving "medication advice"...which reminded me that we are all in this AARP club...but we refuse to get old...so here is a Jimmy Buffett song that comes to mind...I think it fits this Casita Blogger Family to a tee....Happy Trails....Horst sends
Horst, I think there are a good number of us Parrotheads out there that relate to Jimmy Buffet. Askew's Landing CG sounds like a perfect stopping place. Spend a really excellent evening at El Dorado State Park the other night with Sadie and Judy. It was a very pleasant 60 degrees at night. We left before the 4th of July onslaught arrived.
ReplyDeletePork ribs are ready for smoking tomorrow and the melon fruit salad is already prepared. have a safe 4th of July.
Happy to hear all is going well with you and your family...I just researched El Dorado SP...what a gem of a place...I put that on my list...Pork Ribs and melon salad...sounds like a relaxing day...Have a SUPER and SAFE 4th...Horst
