Its now  Friday evening...we didn't go to Johnson Space Center Yesterday.....everybody was in a "veggin" mood...so we just hung out around the Homestead...took them to D&D Country Store and got them Cowboy hats of their choice....they are now official "Texas Buckaroos"!!!

#1 Buckaroo

This morning we all got up around 0600, did all the normal waking up stuff and by 0720 where in our Space Vehicle ready to rendevous with the Johnson Space Center...Three plus hours later we where doing a "splash down" at the Center....Told the Boys their responsibility was to remember our "landing zone and pod"....and off we went to the entrance.....

Shuttle Simulator
It was a huge complex with 10 designated venues.....we decided to do the tram to the Mission Control Bldg and Saturn 5 Rocket displays including the wall of all the Apollo Missions...we were the first folks to view the new updated "Mission Control Center"....they gave us a 20 minute briefing...mainly on what is next for NASA...Mars....probably by 2030....WOW....

Then it was off to see some static displays of rockets mainly the Saturn 5...spent another 20 or so minutes roaming around the area...getting kinda hot....tram came and picked us up in the nick of time...

Next it was the simulator and for #2 the Star Wars Simulator....both where enjoyed immensely...some walking and briefing tours , look at the inside of the Shuttle(mockup), Living in Space, Starship Gallery, Blast off and landing sensations( another simulator)....in addition they had cliff climbing, and other hands on stuff for the kids to do...plus the dreaded gift shop...good news...no marshmallow rifle ...each got a couple items.....by that time it was getting mid afternoon...and they where ready to head back to the "La Vernia Solar system"...about a third of the way home a stop at Taco Bell was in order....
