Status....I'm Back!!!!..and....Happy Birthday...America

Its been a while since I've last posted....but I think I'm at a point where there may be a launch date within the next 30 or so days....after all the medical stuff, ie.,  ultra sounds, blood work, x-rays, cat-scans and probing and prodding.... the final conclusion of my aliments was....."You're just getting OLD".....and your being held together by "bailing wire and duct tape"...what do you expect....I can accept that....as my mother once told me..."when you dance, you got to pay the fiddler"...God knows I ran them pretty hard in days gone by... Sooooo I'm putting together a kinda , sorta trip to the west and northwest....areas I've been, but places I've missed....a "non-structured" adventure of sorts....

We do have a mini trip coming up...will be traveling to Charleston SC to see the Daughter and SIL...ok, its really to see the Grandkids for a week or so....the Gkids want to know why I'M NOT TAKING THEM on a  summer long (repeat) camping trip....told them Opi was selfish and wanted to do a "selfie tour"....they smiled and one of them said a "selfie" was OK....I love them!!!!....
2013 Summer Tour

I've got the camper pretty well prepped for the trip... got a new Wilson Sleek Booster that supports 4G....other than that it ready...I may buy a 90 or 130  watt  solar...the suitcase model...we'll see .....I'm getting excited... solitude, a camp fire, witnessing what Mother Nature presents on a daily basis, photography and hiking....and maybe meeting some Blogging Friends....I'm ready to roll...and I haven't put together a traveling  "LIST".....heha!!

Wishing you all a safe and happy Independence Day....and asking to remember our Troops.....

I saw this clip by Red Skelton  some time a go...thought it may be appropriate for  Independence Day..its called "Red Skeletons Pledge of Allegiance......after the first 30 seconds or so it becomes pretty thought provoking...not as a political message but being an "American "....Horst sends

  1. Looking forward to reading all about your newest journey. I have a Wilson sleek which I use with a 3G phone. It allowed me to post blogs from a number of different locations by tethering my laptop to my phone on our last trip. Really like it. Have always liked Red Skelton. Happy Fourth to you and the missus....jc

    1. I sure am ready for a trip....I do like the Wilson sleek...had one for my 3g phone and like you it sure came in handy by tethering,,,pda.net also has a wifi (foxfi key) so you don't have to use a usb cable,,,,though when I got this 4g phone Verizon put a stop to the foxfi...also now you have to register the Wilson Sleek with your cell carrier...Hope to see you Guys on the road this Fall...take care...Horst sends

  4. Dear Red Skelton. How I miss him! :)

    Your grandkids are GREAT!

I am so looking forward to your upcoming trip. And glad the doctor cut you loose, finally! There's a lot of that old age going around. :D

I have the 90 watt folding suitcase solar panel and love it. I would like the 130 watt, but the 90 watt one weighs 40 pounds and I have trouble moving it. I doubt I could handle anything bigger.

Can't wait to see which one you end up with!

    1. My make are your solar panels....I see about 4 different companies with a wide range of prices...I think with only having one battery I will probably go with the 90 watt...I do have my invertor generator,,,just in case...I am ready to hit the "Great Divide" for some solitude and campfire time...Take care and Happy Trails...Horst sends
