In a Holding Pattern...

(c)Horst Kelly Photographer
Its been two months since my last post and I'm still waiting to get a go ahead to start a new Journey...seems like I've been in a holding pattern forever...when I last left "Blog Land" I was healing up from Cataract surgery on my Left Eye ...I was anxious for the last follow up....in the interim, I got Ms Casita all cleaned, packed and waiting for the Green light....the day finally arrived....I'm all smiles as I arrive at the Ophthalmologist's Office, The Mare is biting at the bit to hitch up with Ms  Casita....Yippee Ki Ya...The Doc is pleased with how my eye has progressed....However there is a slight problem...Without getting into the nitty gritty...the short of it was that I now was scheduled to have Cataract Surgery on my Right Eye, which occurred on 4 March...and another 30 day delay, a follow up shows that my left eye is getting somewhat cloudy...happens in about a third of the procedures....no problem, in a month we'll do a little laser procedure..in and out...only takes a couple minutes in the Office...so now it will be middle to late April before I can think about a trip....then there was the lab work(s), ultrasound(s) and other follow-ups with different physicians...and the way the calendar looks ..the window has closed for April or early May.....

May is a non starter ...but in a good way. First is a trip to Kansas City.... the Grandson is graduating from High School and two weeks later we go to Charleston S.C. for SIL's retirement from the Navy....so there will be some awesome memories that will be made and some quality time with family!!!...

After we get back, I'll take a look at what's on my plate and may wait until sometime late July or August and take a trip to the North West....return by way of Utah...nothing in concrete...only thinking out loud....

The Blue Bonnets are starting to bloom and I sure would like to take a week trip to the Hill Country, but that's a non starter...hoping to at least squeeze in a couple  day trips for some  Blue Bonnet photography....we'll see. I'm thinking that there is some " Casita Driveway Sleepovers" in the near future....:)...Other than that, not much exciting stuff has been happening...purging some 33000 photo's..trying to clean up my Apple, little yard work...very little....my daily walks, more trips than I want to admit to Camping World and trying new recipes with the "O Grill", my traveling cooking companion....and when I can't stand watching grass grow or cement dry I play with my Flight Simulator...haven't done that in many years....and of course following all your Blogs...something that puts a smile on my face on a daily basis...

  2. Glad to get an update on your life. Although the problems are grounding you, all in all they appear to be minor issues that will heal with time AND then you can make a get away.
Enjoy that precious family time! At least you will be seeing other places.
Love your flower pictures...looking forward to bluebonnets, an un photographed flower for me.

  3. The flower photos are so beautiful. They sure do brighten up a cold, weary day. :)

So sorry your travel plans have been frustrated. A rip roaring case of cabin fever is serious!

But I'm delighted you will get to spend time with your family. That is a real treasure.

And Casita Driveway Sleepovers are pretty cool!

  5. Isn't it funny how all those plans we make are constantly changing? Sorry to hear yours didn't go according to plan, but you can now see things on the road you haven't seen in years, probably.:-) Kansas City for a graduation and bbq, then Charleston for a retirement and she-crab soup. Both coupled with family time. That's the way to really plan. Can't be beat. Good luck with the doctors visits.
